Counseling for Persons With Disabilities in Dallas

Support for the journeys illness, injury, or disability can bring.

Finding hope and new meaning when life has been altered.

Our Approach

Our journeys in life may require us to pause, seek support, and make new meaning. With over twenty years of experience as an occupational therapist, our clinician brings a unique, lived understanding of what it means to adjust to a new normal after illness, injury, or physical disability. This isn’t just talk therapy — it’s support from someone who understands the practical and emotional realities of adapting to change.

(Please note: no occupational therapy services are provided at this location — this is a mental health counseling service informed by an occupational therapy background.)

A Gentle Note

Adjusting to a life-altering change takes time, and there is no “right” timeline for grief or adaptation. Whatever stage you’re in — newly diagnosed, months into recovery, or years into living with a disability — there is space here for exactly where you are.

Important Note

This service is a mental health counseling service, not occupational or physical therapy. Clients are encouraged to continue coordinating with their medical providers, occupational therapists, or physical therapists for treatment of the physical aspects of their condition.

Life may look different than you expected. That doesn’t mean hope is off the table.

FAQ

No. This is mental health counseling — a space to work through the emotional side of illness, injury, or disability. Our clinician’s occupational therapy background informs the work, but no occupational or physical therapy services are provided at this location.

Yes. There’s no window that closes on this kind of support. Some people seek counseling right after a diagnosis; others come years later, when a new life stage stirs up old grief or new challenges. Wherever you are, that’s a fine place to start.

They can, when it would be helpful and you want them included. Family and caregiver dynamics are often part of the adjustment process, and your therapist can help navigate those conversations.

Yes. Telehealth is available across Texas, which many clients find helpful when travel, energy, or accessibility is a factor.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, the “No Surprises Act,” health care providers are required to give clients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use their insurance an estimate of the bill for health care items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) showing costs of items and services you can reasonably expect for your health care needs. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may dispute the bill.

  • You may contact the health care provider listed to let them know the billed charges are higher than the GFE. You may ask them to update the bill to match the GFE, negotiate the bill, or ask if financial assistance is available.
  • You may start a dispute resolution process with the U.S.Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days of the date on the original bill.
